The Old Trafford club have been holding talks with De Gea’s representatives in an attempt to tie him down on fresh terms, but so far he has been unwilling to agree to a new deal.Last month talkSPORT told you that United have given the 28-year-old until the end of the year to put pen to paper, otherwise they will exercise their right to extend his deal until summer 2020.However, with just a month-and-a-half to go before his deadline expires, De Gea remains no closer to agreeing a contract with the club. According to The Telegraph, the glovesman is reluctant to extend his stay at Old Trafford with United struggling on the pitch. It is believed he does not want to remain with the club for the peak years of his career if silverware is an unlikely proposition.Juventus are on the lookout for a new number one and have been linked with De Gea. United could be forced to sell the keeper next summer if he will not sign a contract, or they will lose him for free at the end of 2019/20.The Red Devils have reportedly targeted Mat Ryan, the Brighton goalkeeper, as a potential replacement for De Gea.
