Duncan’s Cup final goal, brought his tally in all competitions this season to 32.Chelsea had won the FA Youth Cup for the previous five years and this Liverpool win ended a 12-year wait to lift the trophy.Captain Paul Glatzel, another prolific striker, held his nerve to convert the decisive spot-kick.It was effectively an away game for Liverpool, with the final being played at the Etihad Campus in front of a watching Pep Guardiola, whose first team lead Liverpool in the Premier League by a point with three games to play.
