Gianluigi Buffon has claimed to have turned down the chance to play in the Premier League by rebuffing offers from both Manchester clubs.1

Buffon is now with PSG after a hugely successful career

The legendary goalkeeper began his career at Parma, before moving to Juventus for 32m in 2001, where he spent 17 years, until signing for Paris Saint-Germainlast July. Now 41, Buffon will line up against Manchester United in the Champions League second leg last 16 tie on Wednesday and said Sir Alex Ferguson wanted to sign him during his peak years.“When I was a boy playing for Parma, Ferguson tracked me closely for two or three years, and he’d always send scouts to watch me,” he told BT Sport.“At the time, Parma was my world and I didn’t feel like leaving.
