Leeds United transfer news: Samu Saiz to leave Elland Road and join Getafe ‘in coming days’
Samu Saiz will leave Leeds United ‘in the coming days’, according to reports in Spain.Saiz, the playmaker, has featured in all 21 of Leeds’ Championship matches this season with the Whites currently sitting second, behind Norwich, in the league table.2

Saiz could be on the move in January

However, he has found himself playing a rotation role over the past couple of weeks, with just one start in the previous seven fixtures. He has also completed the full 90 minutes just once since the end of September, and the fact he is no longer a key player under Marcelo Bielsa, the Leeds manager, has raised questions about his future.And, according to AS, Saiz is set to leave Leeds in the near future with Getafe of Spain’s La Liga close to completing his signing.Per SportWitness, Saiz ‘will arrive [at Getafe] in the coming days on loan with a purchase option’.

Despite the claims suggesting a deal is all but agreed, AS do report that Leeds do not want to lose Saiz, who has registered three Championship assists this season.The 27-year-old, who began his career in Real Madrid’s youth academy, has previously played for Getafe; though he predominantly turned out for their ‘B’ team, he did appear once in La Liga in 2012.2

Saiz has also been on the books at Melilla, Almeria, Atletico Madrid and Huesca, the club from which he joined Leeds last summer.
